Established in 1976 through the visionary foresight of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the equestrian club was conceived not merely as a sporting venue but as a sanctuary for equine excellence and a living link to the nation's past . Today, ADEC (Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club) represents a sophisticated synthesis of four core pillars: the preservation of heritage, the promotion of a vibrant culture, the pursuit of world-class sports, and the provision of unparalleled luxury.

At its heart, ADEC is a custodian of the UAE's profound equestrian heritage. Horse riding is a tradition deeply woven into the fabric of Emirati history, where the horse symbolized travel, social status, and cultural identity for centuries. The club actively preserves this legacy by promoting traditional sports and acting as a vital cultural hub . By honoring the historical significance of the horse, ADEC ensures that the modern pursuit of equestrianism remains firmly rooted in the national narrative, fostering a culture that respects the past while embracing the future of the sport.

The club's dedication to sports is evident in its world class infrastructure, designed to host the highest caliber of international competition. ADEC features a championship turf racetrack, a sand training track, and versatile equestrian arenas that cater to various disciplines, including dressage and jumping.

Its seasonal calendar, running from November through April, is packed with vibrant equestrian spectacles, drawing enthusiasts and competitors from across the globe. Among the highlights are prestigious events such as the Group 1 International Jewel Crown Cup and the esteemed Presidents Cup, solidifying Abu Dhabi's position as a major player on the global equestrian stage.

Complementing its sporting excellence is an atmosphere of undeniable luxury and exclusivity. The club now boasts an elevated grandstand with a seating capacity for 5,000 guests, exclusive VIP suites, and modernized air-conditioned stables, ensuring the comfort of both patrons and horses.

Beyond competition and exclusivity, ADEC is also committed to the future of the sport through education. The club operates a Riding School accredited by the British Horse Society (BHS), offering quality equestrian education for riders of all levels . This educational arm provides professional guidance and coaching in disciplines like dressage, jumping, and equine care, serving as a crucial pipeline for developing the next generation of Emirati and international riders. By investing in training and skill development, ADEC ensures the long-term vitality and excellence of the equestrian culture it champions.
